Supporting Asda’s ‘Fishing for Plastic’ Initiative
Leading UK supermarket brand Asda has launched ‘Fishing for Plastic’ – and Denholm Seafoods is delighted to play its part in helping to clear our seas of plastic waste.
‘Unity’ is one of the boats owned by partners of Denholm Seafoods and skipper David Bellany hosted a ‘Fishing for Plastic’ visit on board the vessel at Fraserburgh Harbour.
David Bellany said: “It is very encouraging to see Asda, a significant household brand, committed to helping fishermen clear the sea of unwanted plastics. We always retain any waste caught by ‘Unity’ and dispose of it appropriately when we return to port. These new sacks from Asda will provide a dedicated and more suitable container for the on-deck storage of any plastic waste caught by the crew of ‘Unity’, helping to keep the boat tidy and safe.”
