Blue Whiting (micromesistius poutassou)
Our blue whiting is sustainably caught in the North East Atlantic.
Blue whiting swim in the deep waters to the west and north of Scotland. Intriguingly, although blue whiting are closely related to cod and haddock – which swim close to the sea bed - they behave like other pelagic fish species. From February, they migrate northwards during the spring and summer months. The fishery is managed sustainably.
